We’ve been to the Sky Ranch in Tagaytay a couple of times before. Our daughter, Samantha, was still quite small at the time, so this was the first time she really got to enjoy the rides.
According to their Facebook page, “Sky Ranch is a leisure park that is envisioned to be one of the definitive Tagaytay experiences for local and foreign tourists alike. It is a complete day destination for families and groups of friends. It will offer activities such as horseback riding and a mini-amusement park for kids. A varied selection of restaurants will provide dining with prime views of the famed Taal volcano.” In case you did not know, it is also owned and operated by Henry Sy’s group of companies.
The first time we tried the Sky Ranch, the entrance fee was only at PHP50 per head. Now, it’s PHP100 per head (for weekends/holidays) but children who are smaller than 3 feet, are still free of charge. This is still a lot better than Enchanted Kingdom rates if you ask me especially if not everyone in your group is fond of riding. They charge PHP80/head on weekdays.
Inside the park, you will find several gazebos where you can take a seat and watch the park activities. The biggest attraction, literally, is the Sky Eye or the Ferris Wheel. Tickets cost PHP150 per passenger (even kids). It’s air conditioned and you have a very nice view of the surrounding hillside, the lake and of course, the volcano. Quite enjoyable, even for kids. Sam was not afraid at all and even got bored halfway through. 🙂
There are lots of rides for all age groups. Adults would definitely like the Super Viking and Top Dancer. There is also a zip-line which gives a unique view of the surrounding hills and mountains. Smaller kids will definitely enjoy the Express Train which takes passengers for a ride around the whole park or the two-level carousel. Horseback-riding is also available for PHP250/30 minutes.
Most of the rides are only at PHP50 each with the exception of a few. Some rides are also free for kids, just check at the ticket booth. They’ve definitely added a lot more rides since our first visit and I think they will be adding more. It was good to see that there were also a lot more food stalls and restaurants just outside the park. They have also expanded their parking lot across the street to accommodate the number of visitors especially during weekends. If I remember correctly, parking fee is at PHP50 flat rate.
In case you would like to visit the Sky Ranch, it is along the main Tagaytay road right before the Taal Vista Hotel. Park hours are from 8AM-10PM. If you would like to inquire, you can call them at +6328627704. You can also email them at: firstname.lastname@example.org
