We like staying in quaint B&B’s because we feel more comfortable there and less like we are in the big city. Deciding to stay at a hotel was not something we normally do. I’d seen some of my friends post about their stay at Hotel Kimberly, so during one of our stays in Tagaytay, we decided to check it out.

The hotel is conveniently located, in that it is near the center of Tagaytay but off the main Tagaytay-Nasugbu highway so it’s not too crowded. The turn-off point is just before the Sky Ranch. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it was actually quite big and the grounds expansive.

There was ample parking space and from there you could already see the basketball court and playground/obstacle course. There are a number of activities for visitors such as swimming — there are two swimming pools (1 for adults and 1 wading pool for the kids), a mini-zoo, horses for those who want to ride, an events hall where 11738128_1131122866914444_6108328260462915636_nthey show movies during weekends and a game room. At the time we were there, they even had a bonfire where the guests could roast marshmallows. It was such a success that the staff ran out and had to get more. Such a good example of the good customer service we experienced while we were there.

They have lots of rooms and the rates are quite reasonable, especially since it comes with buffet breakfast for 2 pax. Rooms have complimentary wi-fi access, television, and each had a balcony where you could look out into the grounds.

The hotel also had an in-house restaurant. We ate our dinner at the hotel because we just didn’t feel like going out. Food was good enough though there was nothing remarkable. Prices were also quite reasonable. You had the option of having meals by the poolside as well. This gave us the chance to enjoy the cool Tagaytay evening.

I guess that was one of the things we liked about the hotel despite it being so. It still felt like I was in Tagaytay and not like I was in the big city. At night, despite the number of guests, we still had the lobby to ourselves and we enjoyed drinks and desserts by the pool.

In the morning, we enjoyed a leisurely walk on the grounds and spent some time at the mini zoo petting the rabbits (they had some for sale too). Buffet breakfast was good enough. There weren’t many choices but what they had was abundant enough.  We also braved the cold and had a quick dip in the pool. The kiddie pool was quite pool and we were lucky there weren’t that many kids. The regular pool was big enough. Both were very clean. I don’t have to mention that the water was cold but in the mid-day sun, it was tolerable. While we were swimming, we continued to enjoy the good service from the hotel staff.

Hotel Kimberly was definitely a unique type of experience. I say this because while there, we never felt the need to go out and see the rest of the Tagaytay attractions. They had enough of their own to keep us on the grounds and spend our whole time there. The rates were very reasonable and the staff very attentive. Because of this, I give the hotel an overall rating of 5/5.

If you want to book your stay at the Hotel Kimberly, they are located at Amadeo Rd., Brgy. Kaybagal North, Crisanto Ave., Tagaytay, Cavite. You can also contact them at Tel No. +632 5211888. Room rates start from PHP5800 for 2 pax with extra person charged at PHP1200 inclusive of breakfast buffet.
